Jamop is Ready To Spread Their Message Of Peace On A Grassroots Level
( April 4, 2005 - Toronto , Canada ) Jamop, or Just A Minute Of Peace, a Canadian born peace initiative of unprecedented magnitude is proud to make its first moves on a local level. At 8 P.M. on April 7 th at the historic St. Lawrence market, local celebrity Ben Chin, Jamop's founders, performers, and citizens of the world will gather to celebrate the Jamop initiative as part of the 7th annual Toronto Dollar party . The Jamop festival, one day of music and world peace, scheduled for July 7 th , 2007 at historical venues around the world, is a humanitarian and entertainment event of unprecedented magnitude. The festival, which has garnered support from seven Nobel Laureates and nearly 80 musical artists from all over the world, will be highlighted by the first ever simultaneous globally recognized minute of peace in silence.
Jamop first burst onto the international scene last summer when many of Canada 's Olympic athletes and other nations chose to wear the Jamop crest of a dove taking flight on their clothes at the closing ceremony at the Athens games. More attention was garnered in Athens when an impromptu rally broke out at an Olympic Volleyball game between Brazil and the U.S.A. Fans of both teams came together that day in a show of love and support for Just A Minute Of Peace.
This April 7 th partly in thanks to the support of the City of Toronto , and Toronto Dollar the movement comes to Toronto . Jamop believe in world peace and this global minute is a symbolic gesture on everyone's behalf stating a desire to live in a world of peace and human rights. On April 7 th Jamop will ask everyone in attendance to take a moment to recognize one minute of peace in silence as a show of support for the Just A Minute Of Peace Initiative.
